In light of the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12, 2010, the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 3615 has approved a charitable donation of $500 to the Haiti Earthquake Emergency Relief Fund established by the AFL-CIO. “Our local has always supported charitable causes, and we were eager to step up to the plate,” said Local President 3615 Tom Webb. “Working for the Social Security Administration, our members have a special emphasis on helping those in need,” he added.
The American Federation of Government Employees would like to commend its members who will be providing direct assistance to the Haitian people in the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Agency for International Development, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
